Business Development Manager – Southeast Asia (Singapore)

About the role

Air New Zealand is seeking a Business Development Manager to join its Southeast Asia Sales team in Singapore. The role focuses on identifying new commercial opportunities, building strategic partnerships and driving sustainable revenue growth across the region.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute business development plans to meet revenue, profitability and market‑share targets in Southeast Asia.
• Identify, negotiate and secure new commercial partnerships while expanding existing relationships.
• Manage key trade and commercial accounts through relationship management, commercial negotiation and performance planning.
• Analyse sales performance, market trends and competitor activity to uncover growth opportunities.
• Partner with internal Commercial and Marketing teams to create sales propositions, incentive programmes and joint marketing initiatives.
• Oversee regional distribution channels to improve profitability and reduce cost of sale.
• Support product training, trade engagement activities and industry events to raise Air New Zealand’s profile.
• Provide leadership and commercial support to Sales team members and General Sales Agent partners.

Required profile

• Proven experience in business development, sales or account management, preferably within the airline, travel or tourism industry.
• Strong commercial acumen with a track record of delivering revenue growth and building strategic partnerships.
• Excellent relationship‑management and stakeholder‑engagement skills, able to influence at all levels.
• Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, changing environment while managing multiple priorities.
• Curious, proactive and results‑driven with strategic thinking capabilities.
