Business Oversight Compliance Specialist (Macro) - AVP

About the role

Barclays is hiring a Business Oversight Compliance Specialist (Macro) at Assistant Vice President level in Singapore. The role provides data-led, independent compliance oversight and constructive challenge for Macro businesses within Markets, supporting wider APAC priorities. It covers the Singapore Macro business and works closely with Markets, Legal, Risk and other control functions.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and assess compliance risks through reviews of business activities, changes, processes, testing and systems
• Investigate potential market abuse (insider dealing, unlawful disclosure, market manipulation, anti-competitive conduct) and money laundering, terrorist financing or other financial crime
• Oversee corrective actions and preventative measures, and implement compliance policies aligned with regulatory and international standards
• Provide timely, transaction-specific guidance on conduct, reputation and regulatory matters, and escalate material concerns
• Support business growth initiatives and the APAC Markets BOC Compliance Plan, including verification checks, compliance training and MI production
• Contribute to policy development, advise on complex issues and lead or guide a team, coaching staff and setting objectives

Required profile

• Relevant compliance, legal, regulatory or risk experience in financial services, ideally supporting a Markets business
• Good understanding of foreign exchange and rates products, market structure and associated controls
• Experience giving real-time or transaction-specific compliance or regulatory guidance
• Knowledge of key global and APAC regulatory requirements for Markets
• Chinese language capability preferred for stakeholder interaction in Greater China
• Legal right to work in Singapore; sponsorship may be required
