Business Planning & Controller, SEA

About the role

This position is responsible for managing routine finance operations and supporting cost planning and reporting for Fendi in Southeast Asia. The role partners with emerging markets such as Malaysia and the Philippines, providing business analysis, insights, and internal control to drive profitable decisions.

Key responsibilities

• Own overall P&L management for Malaysia and the Philippines, driving strategic initiatives to improve profitability and optimize costs.
• Conduct root‑cause analysis of P&L variances versus last year and budget, and present findings to the Regional Office.
• Lead the budgeting and forecasting process from framing to presentation.
• Perform monthly and weekly sales variance analysis, highlighting trends, risks, and opportunities.
• Collaborate with internal teams to develop and execute action plans that meet operational and profitability targets.
• Review, report, and analyse OPEX for all SEA markets, ensuring accurate allocation and expense control.
• Validate invoices and petty‑cash claims, prepare month‑end accruals, and monitor balance‑sheet items, especially cash and working capital.
• Oversee warehouse stock reconciliations and coordinate legal contract reviews with the Legal department.
• Participate in retail audits, ensure compliance with cash and payment procedures, and propose corrective actions.
• Lead or support ad‑hoc projects such as handbook updates, audit liaison, wholesale‑to‑retail transitions, multi‑country management, and POS implementations.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, economics or a related discipline.
• Chartered Accountant or ACCA qualification is an advantage.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in FP&A and controlling, preferably within retail, wholesale or luxury fashion.
• Ability to work effectively in a matrix and diverse environment.
• Strong analytical, organisational, communication and interpersonal skills.
• High integrity, motivation and a results‑driven attitude.
