Buyer (B3)

About the role

Applied Materials is seeking a Buyer to manage the procurement of materials, supplies, machinery and services for its cutting‑edge manufacturing facilities. The role requires close collaboration across engineering, manufacturing and supplier teams to ensure continuous, high‑quality production.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure supply continuity to enable manufacturing with speed and quality.
• Execute and manage pull‑ins/push‑outs with suppliers to meet MRP demand.
• Lead cross‑functional teams to resolve supply issues with engineering, program managers and supplier account managers.
• Drive purchasing activities to achieve the lowest total cost while maintaining quality and reliability.
• Lead inventory and excess & obsolete (E&Z) reduction initiatives.
• Manage assigned purchasing projects, controlling cost, schedule and scope.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree with 2‑4 years of purchasing or supply‑chain experience.
• Strong knowledge of industry best practices, key business drivers and marketplace competition.
• Demonstrated leadership ability to lead small projects and build consensus.
