Buyer – Commodity Specialist/Manager

About the role

The Buyer – Commodity Specialist/Manager will oversee the end‑to‑end procurement process for key commodities, ensuring timely and cost‑effective acquisition of materials, components, equipment and services. Working closely with manufacturing, planning, engineering and quality teams, the role supports HYVE Solutions’ goal of delivering value through strategic sourcing.

Key responsibilities

• Review and analyse purchase requisitions and coordinate purchasing activities with internal departments.
• Process purchase orders, change orders and requests for quotes, maintaining accurate data in the procurement system.
• Create and maintain bills of material, part numbers and commodity records in enterprise‑wide supply‑chain systems.
• Perform cost analysis and volume planning for major commodities, monitoring cost, schedule and scope of sub‑contracts.
• Develop new supply sources, negotiate with suppliers and propose cost‑saving initiatives such as make‑versus‑buy analyses.
• Maintain supplier databases, quote tables and resolve quality issues in partnership with QA.
• Support commodity business planning, market trend assessment and product availability forecasting.

Required profile

• Proven experience in commodity or strategic procurement, preferably with domestic or global exposure.
• Strong analytical abilities to conduct cost and volume analyses.
• Excellent negotiation skills and ability to develop alternative supply sources.
• Collaborative mindset to work with cross‑functional teams including engineering, manufacturing and quality.
