Buyer – Procurement & Supplier Management

About the role

We are looking for a proactive Buyer to manage procurement of mechanical, electrical and fabricated parts for our projects on Jurong Island. The role supports production by ensuring timely order processing, supplier communication and alignment with project schedules.

Key responsibilities

• Issue and manage purchase orders for mechanical, electrical and fabricated parts according to project BOMs.
• Monitor purchase order confirmations, track supplier delivery schedules and update the ERP system.
• Proactively communicate with suppliers to clarify order details, expedite deliveries and resolve discrepancies.
• Follow up on open orders and track delivery dates to support factory production needs.
• Align procurement timelines with project milestones and escalate material risks to the Purchasing Agent.
• Support BOM reviews, ensuring accuracy of part numbers, lead times and pricing in ERP.
• Assist in sourcing non‑standard components for low‑complexity engineering changes.
• Collaborate with planners, engineers, quality and receiving teams to interpret specifications, verify supplier capability and address non‑conformances.
• Maintain proper documentation (quotes, order confirmations, certificates) and comply with internal procurement controls and SOPs.
• Perform occasional supplier site visits and up to 10 % domestic/international travel.

Required profile

• Experience in procurement or purchasing within an industrial environment.
• Ability to work in a fast‑paced, matrixed organization with global stakeholders.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Willingness to travel up to 10 % of the time.
