Cargo Planning Analyst

About the role

Singapore Airlines is looking for a Cargo Planning Analyst to join its Cargo Division, Cargo Commercial Planning Department. The role plans, coordinates and evaluates the economic viability of charters, diversions, reroutes and supplementary flights, and proposes new markets for the Company.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate and implement charters, diversions, reroutes and supplementary services, ensuring they are cost-beneficial and within operational limits.
• Assess the economic viability of supplementary freighter flights against system-wide revenue, balancing commercial demand and supply while accounting for service guidelines, engineering safety, crewing, traffic rights and filing limitations.
• Keep cost inputs for supplementary and chartered flights up to date and documented, and review charter performance to improve the charter process.
• Carry out advanced planning and forecasting, and communicate needs for extra pilots and aircraft to Flight Operations and Engineering promptly.
• Monitor flight performance, adjust flight frequencies, and work with the Cargo Space Management team on re-routing, cancellations and additional capacity.
• Adjust flight schedules around engineering checks and runway works, and coordinate stakeholder deployment of charters.
• Explore new and emerging markets, analyse route performance and market data, and take part in sales meetings to understand commercial demand.
• Coordinate with Head Office Sales and worldwide stations on opportunities such as Grand Prix, MotoGP, RR engines, live animals and year-round dead freight.
• Manage bellyhold capacity purchases for Scoot and updates for SQ, handle payload adjustments in systems, and run weekly flight reviews with revenue and cost forecasts.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in any discipline.
• Knowledge of the airfreight industry.
• Ability to work under pressure and make quick, sound decisions.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
