About the role
Deutsche Bank's Corporate Affairs & Strategy division is looking for an experienced, strategic Chairman to lead its APAC Regulatory and Exam Management (REMG) team. Key responsibilities
- Provide meaningful information to the Management Board and other stakeholders on regulatory interactions, including key monthly and quarterly reports.
- Identify trends and changing expectations of APAC regulators and keep a current view of significant matters and remediation.
- Brief senior management and prepare materials for engagements with regulators, internally (e.g. Supervisory Board) and externally (e.g. ECB and other regulators).
- Work with RMG, Compliance, Legal and other stakeholders so regulators receive consistent, timely information, and coordinate responses to extra-territorial or group-level queries.
- Advise on regulatory management topics such as the Policy on Engagement with Supervisory Authorities and handling of Confidential Supervisory Information.
- Take part in cross-regional projects and multi-regulator events such as the annual APAC Supervisory College.
- Support consistent tracking of regulatory interactions using GFMS, and review and update local policies and procedures aligned with global principles.
Required profile
- Minimum 10 years of experience, including at least 5 years working with regulators or supervisors in the APAC region, either in a supervision role or facing financial services regulators.
- Experience delivering or managing cross-institutional work across multiple locations, and advising senior management with briefing materials.
- Strong relationship management, stakeholder engagement and judgment, with the ability to handle sensitive issues and work remotely.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
Required skills
- Excellent oral and written communication, able to explain complex ideas clearly.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and competing demands, prioritise and deliver consistently.
- Leadership and coaching, with no direct people management.
What we offer
- Flexible benefits plan including virtual doctor consultation services.
- Comprehensive leave benefits, gender-neutral parental leave and 25 days of annual paid leave plus public holidays.
- Hybrid working arrangement and a culture of continuous learning.
