Chief Accountant – Fintech Platform (Singapore)

About the role

Our client, a fast‑growing fintech platform with a presence in Singapore, is seeking a Chief Accountant to lead the finance and accounting function. This senior, hands‑on role will shape reporting, controls, compliance and finance operations as the business scales.

Key responsibilities

• Lead full‑set accounting, month‑end close, financial and statutory reporting.
• Prepare management accounts, board‑level reports and financial statements for senior stakeholders.
• Oversee budgeting, forecasting, cash‑flow planning, working‑capital management and financial analysis.
• Manage audit, GST, corporate tax, payroll compliance and other statutory requirements in Singapore.
• Ensure adherence to Singapore Financial Reporting Standards, IFRS and related regulations.
• Maintain internal controls, accounting policies, approval workflows and finance governance.
• Supervise group consolidation, inter‑company transactions and multi‑entity reporting.
• Partner with senior management to provide commercial insights and recommendations.
• Liaise with external auditors, tax advisors, banks, investors and other stakeholders.
• Mentor the finance team and drive process automation and system enhancements.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or a related field.
• Professional qualification such as CA Singapore, ACCA, CPA Australia or ICAEW preferred.
• 7‑10 years of relevant experience, including at least 3 years in a finance‑leadership role.
• Strong hands‑on experience with full‑set accounting, month‑end close, reporting, audits, tax, budgeting and cash‑flow management.
• Good knowledge of Singapore GST, corporate tax, payroll compliance, SFRS and IFRS.
• Experience managing multiple entities, group consolidation or regional reporting is a plus.
