Chief Cook – Local Cuisine Specialist

About the role

We are looking for a Chief Cook to lead the kitchen of our neighbourhood food shop, preparing authentic local dishes for customers across Singapore. The role involves managing split‑shift operations, ensuring high standards of food quality and safety, and supporting a small team of kitchen assistants and counter staff.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and cook a variety of local cuisine items in accordance with food hygiene and safety regulations.
• Supervise, train and schedule kitchen assistants to maintain smooth daily operations.
• Coordinate with front‑of‑house staff to ensure timely service and customer satisfaction.
• Manage inventory, monitor stock levels of perishable ingredients and place orders to avoid over‑stocking.
• Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment.

Required profile

• Minimum three (3) years of experience as a cook or chef in a fast‑paced food‑service environment.
• Ability to work split shifts (5:00 am–9:00 am and 4:00 pm–8:00 pm), including weekends and public holidays.
• Strong teamwork orientation and good communication skills.
• Attention to detail and commitment to food safety standards.
