Client Due Diligence Specialist

About the role

LGT, the largest private banking and asset management group owned by an entrepreneurial family and the family office of the Princely House of Liechtenstein, is hiring a Client Due Diligence Specialist. The role covers due diligence reviews and risk identification in KYC information for new client accounts, with a focus on high-risk clients such as Politically Exposed Persons, in line with the bank's policies and procedures.

Key responsibilities

• Perform due diligence reviews and identify key risks in KYC information for new client accounts, focusing on high-risk clients including Politically Exposed Persons.
• Assess the plausibility of clients' source of wealth and work with the Front Office to obtain independent corroboration.
• Conduct screenings and first-level assessments via SmartkKYC on account-related parties and source-of-wealth companies.
• Document the Client Onboarding Assessment, clearly stating potential AML, reputational and sanctions risks where applicable.
• Advise and train stakeholders on due diligence measures, internal policies and local regulatory expectations.
• Collaborate with other compliance teams, relationship managers, business managers and senior management to ensure thorough assessments.
• Support audits, inspections and regulatory reporting, and take part in system enhancement and process improvement projects, including user acceptance testing and post-implementation support.
• Provide ad-hoc support to the Client Due Diligence/Compliance team as needed.

Required profile

• 8-10 years of relevant experience in compliance or audit, with a strong focus on AML/CDD in private banking.
• Thorough knowledge of AML regulatory requirements, including the MAS Notice on the Prevention of Money Laundering and Countering the Financing of Terrorism and effective AML/CFT controls in private banking.
• Effective communicator with excellent interpersonal skills, able to manage internal stakeholders and work in a fast-paced environment.
