Clinical Associate (Medical Officer) & Resident Physician – Singapore

About the role

We are seeking qualified foreign‑trained doctors to join Singapore’s tertiary public hospitals as Clinical Associates (Medical Officers) or Resident Physicians. The positions involve direct patient care in a range of surgical and medical specialties within a high‑volume, teaching environment.

Key responsibilities

• Manage inpatient wards, overseeing the full spectrum of patient care.
• Assist in outpatient clinics and, where applicable, support operating theatre activities.
• Participate in on‑call rotations, providing emergency and after‑hours coverage.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure safe and effective treatment.

Required profile

• Active clinical practice with a basic medical degree from an accredited university.
• Successful completion of the national licensing examination in the country of graduation.
• 3–6 years post‑housemanship experience as a Medical Officer in a relevant specialty.
• Post‑graduate qualifications (e.g., MRCP, MRCS, MRCEM, FRCR, FRCS, FRCEM, FRCOphth, FRCA) are advantageous.
• Good command of spoken and written English and ability to undertake on‑call duties.
• For Resident Physician roles, the degree must be registrable with the Singapore Medical Council; MD from USM is accepted.

What we offer

• Fixed‑term contracts (2 years non‑renewable for Clinical Associates; 2–3 years renewable for Resident Physicians).
• Basic salary SGD 4,500–5,000/month (Clinical Associate) or SGD 6,500–7,500/month (Resident Physician) plus housing allowance and on‑call allowance.
• Annual leave (24 days), sick leave (14 days), and public holidays (11 days).
