College Intern - NPI Mechanical/Mechatronics Engineering

About the role

HP is looking for a college intern in New Product Introduction (NPI) engineering, covering mechanical and mechatronics. You will work closely with the NPI Principal Technologist and engineering teams to help bring new technologies into production.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and test product and tooling concepts through rapid prototyping
• Solve manufacturing, process, automation and product-related problems
• Design and modify fixtures, jigs and tooling
• Support experiments, characterization studies and NPI builds
• Assist with data analysis, SPC, gage R&R and engineering investigations
• Collaborate across engineering disciplines to introduce new technologies into production

Required profile

• Current bachelor or master's undergraduate in Mechanical or Mechatronics Engineering
• Able to commit to a 5-6 month full-time internship starting in January 2027
• Strong engineering fundamentals and hands-on problem-solving ability
• Initiative, independence, collaboration and communication skills
• Growth mindset and willingness to learn
• Ability to work in cross-functional and multicultural teams
