College Intern - Procurement Engineering

About the role

HP is looking for a College Intern in Procurement Engineering to join its Display Procurement team in Singapore. You will cover both the engineering and business aspects of display panels, working with suppliers, R&D and business teams.

Key responsibilities

• Evaluate supplier capabilities so production can meet HP demand, and work with business teams on business continuity plans such as multiple sourcing and geographic diversity.
• Evaluate supplier product designs, processes and activities against HP manufacturing guidelines, quality processes and standards using Lean Sigma processes.
• Partner with R&D to support new product introduction, help develop the display panel roadmap and work with the global team on Pan-HP Leverage.
• Resolve supplier-related production problems, drive supplier improvement through failure analysis and corrective action plans, and negotiate cost reductions.
• Set quality objectives, audit suppliers where appropriate, establish component quality metrics and run regular supplier quality reviews.
• Help identify potential suppliers, support escalations from parts, suppliers or clients, and work with suppliers to reduce defects and costs.
• Drive internal system and process improvements to raise supplier performance across categories.

Required profile

• Undergraduate degree in Electrical or Electronics Engineering, or equivalent.
• Able to commit to a 5-6 month full-time internship starting in January 2027; part-time arrangements may be considered on a case-by-case basis.
• Effective communication, results orientation, learning agility and digital fluency.
