Commercial Officer – Billing

About the role

The Commercial Officer – Billing will manage contract billing activities for marine and offshore projects, ensuring accurate invoicing and variation handling. Reporting to the Section Manager, the role involves close interaction with customers, project managers, and on‑site teams.

Key responsibilities

• Interpret contract terms, schedules of rates and defined scopes of work.
• Prepare quotations for additional jobs requested by customer representatives and project managers.
• Draft detailed work statements that capture actual work completed for customer presentation.
• Raise and negotiate variation proposals/claims independently with customer representatives.
• Compile Work Completion Forms from foremen, engineers and supervisors and verify work against specifications.
• Generate draft bills, invoices and credit notes in line with contract payment terms.
• Travel overseas for assignments as directed by supervisors or the Head of Department.
• Perform any other duties assigned by the Section Manager.

Required profile

• Degree or Diploma in Naval Architecture, Civil, Marine & Offshore, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or equivalent Certificate of Competency (Marine Engineer Officer) Class 1.
• Minimum of 3 years relevant experience in commercial or billing functions.
• Strong interpersonal and communication abilities.
• Ability to multitask and thrive in a fast‑paced environment.
