Contamination Control Technologist

About the role

Micron is looking for a Contamination Control Technologist to join its team at FAB 10. Working in the environment quality control sector, you will collaborate with Facilities, Equipment, Fab support, Production Teams and area engineering teams to prevent particle, airborne molecular and liquid particle contamination of the manufacturing process. The role involves environmental sampling, quality checks, contamination troubleshooting and sensor maintenance, and adhering to world-class standards to prevent fab excursions.

Key responsibilities

• Respond to ERT and security alerts and ensure gowning room logistics are adequate during evacuation
• Respond to contamination alarms and report abnormal conditions to engineering and other stakeholders
• Sample the Fab for contamination (swabs, bacteria, airborne and liquid particles, airborne molecular contamination) and work with the chemical lab to obtain results in a timely way
• Ensure real-time monitoring systems operate and record properly
• Carry out primary investigations on contamination issues and on contamination control analyzers, providing data to engineering
• Complete special projects and support contamination control engineering projects
• Ensure team members follow approved cleanroom protocols and act as a resource for the Fab, Probe, Facilities and other groups
• Integrate AI-assisted tools into daily work and share AI-enabled improvements

Required profile

• Diploma in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry or Materials Science, or a related field (preferred)
• No experience required; candidates without experience are welcome to apply
• Able to work in a cleanroom environment
• Strong interpersonal skills and collaboration with diverse people
• Ability to work 12-hour shifts, including nights

Required skills

• Basic PC skills, including MS Office Word, Excel and PowerPoint
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Basic knowledge of techniques such as ion chromatography, gas chromatography and particle analyzers is a plus
