Controller I, Inventory Business Control

About the role

The Controller I, Inventory Business Control ensures the integrity, accuracy, and completeness of inventory accounting and reporting for ASM's semiconductor equipment business. The role supports month‑end and quarter‑end closing, drives inventory controls, and partners with Business Units and Operations to meet corporate governance and audit requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Perform monthly inventory reconciliation in ASM SAP systems, including Finished Goods.
• Analyze variances using Difference Analyzer and Inventory Overview reports, resolving discrepancies promptly.
• Consolidate and review reporting in Power BI with the Inventory Planning Team.
• Monitor and manage Work‑in‑Progress (WIP) inventory, coordinating with BU teams to close aged WBS items.
• Manage IA & Scrap reporting, extract logistics validation reports, and perform posting checks in SAP S/4 across manufacturing plants.
• Track GSN, apply Excess & Obsolete (E&O) provisions, and consolidate data in BlackLine for reconciliation.
• Oversee cycle‑count and physical inventory programs, ensuring SOX compliance.
• Prepare and post journal entries for inventory receipts, transfers, returns, scraps, and adjustments in line with IFRS and company policy.
• Support month‑end close, forecasting, and financial reporting activities.

Required profile

• Experience in inventory accounting and financial reporting.
• Familiarity with month‑end and quarter‑end closing processes.
• Understanding of corporate governance, audit requirements, IFRS, and SOX compliance.
• Ability to work closely with Manufacturing Finance, Procurement Finance, and FP&A teams.
