Credit Analyst (6-Month Contract)

About the role

Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group (MUFG) is recruiting a Credit Analyst for a 6-month contract at its Singapore office in Marina One. The role covers credit reviews, financial analysis and preparation of materials for regulatory inspections.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out financial analysis, credit reviews and periodic covenant checks for assigned credit customers by collecting and evaluating their financial statements.
• Review credit proposals submitted by front-office teams for facilities booked at the Singapore branch, providing independent, objective assessments.
• Prepare materials required for regulatory inspections by authorities such as the FSA, BOJ, MAS or other relevant bodies.
• Create and verify detailed spreadsheets for existing and new clients to support credit decisions.
• Monitor changes in the economic and business environment that could affect account creditworthiness.
• Draft credit applications for the renewal of designated credit facilities.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders on credit reviews and ongoing portfolio monitoring, and share risk-management insights with colleagues.
• Help identify early signs of concern in customer portfolios.

Required profile

• A degree in Banking and Finance, Business, Accountancy or Economics is preferred but not mandatory.
• Analyser level: no prior experience required; exposure to financial analysis or credit assessment is an advantage.
• AVP level: at least 3 years of experience in corporate credit analysis within banking or finance.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel.
• Excellent written English for reports and communication with internal teams and regulators.
• Strong analytical and communication skills, and the ability to work in a team.
