Credit Analyst (6-Month Contract)

About the role

Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group (MUFG) is recruiting a Credit Analyst for a 6-month contract, based in its Singapore office at Marina One. You will evaluate the financial health of Japanese corporate clients by analysing their financial statements, reviewing credit proposals and monitoring market conditions that could affect client portfolios.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse financial statements, including financial spreading, credit review, rating assessments and periodic covenant checks for assigned Japanese corporate clients.
• Evaluate credit proposals and rating applications from the marketing department, considering all relevant information.
• Monitor economic and business environments proactively to spot potential credit issues affecting assigned accounts.
• Collaborate with colleagues across departments to complete credit reviews accurately and on time.
• Maintain up-to-date records of client financials and credit ratings in line with regulatory requirements and internal policies.
• Support the team in preparing detailed creditworthiness and risk reports for management review.
• Take part in regular training on industry best practices and regulatory changes, and engage with clients to clarify financial information.

Required profile

• Degree in Business, Accountancy or Economics.
• At least one year of corporate credit experience in banking is preferred; candidates with a strong accounting background but no prior experience are also encouraged to apply.
• Good time management, initiative and teamwork skills.
• Keen awareness of economic trends and good communication skills with internal and external stakeholders.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
• Attention to detail when reviewing financial documents and preparing credit assessments.
