Credit Risk Advisory Intern

About the role

Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group (MUFG) is recruiting a Credit Risk Advisory Intern within its Global Corporate Banking Division for Asia, Business Risk Management Department, Credit Risk Advisory unit. The internship runs from 11 January 2027 to 30 June 2027 and is based in Singapore. It supports the proactive portfolio management of the Global Corporate and Investment Banking business across APAC and helps manage current and potential stressed and distressed clients.

Key responsibilities

• Help set up and support the proactive portfolio management of the Global Corporate and Investment Banking business across APAC
• Identify and design strategies for managing current and potential stressed and distressed clients
• Assist with presentation materials for credit risk training and lessons learned sessions, and other committee meeting materials
• Support the setup of a Management Information framework to keep management informed of asset quality across the portfolio
• Support the monthly credit cost forecast and annual credit cost budgeting processes, including liaison between the First and Second Lines of Defence
• Provide analytical and administrative support to the BRMD-CRA team
• Organise regional meetings across coverage departments and credit divisions

Required profile

• Open to Singaporean and PR students only; internship partners include NUS, NTU, SMU, SUTD and SUSS
• Basic understanding of credit risk management
• Ability to understand and interpret financial statements and credit documentation such as loan and security agreements
• Strong written and spoken English; knowledge of another Asian language is useful for coordinating with regional partners
• Self-starter who can prioritise, multi-task and deliver work under tight deadlines
• Good initiative, communication and teamwork skills
