Critical Environment Management Lead

About the role

JLL is seeking a high-impact technical leader to drive engineering operations and critical environment resilience across the South Asia Hub (Singapore, Malaysia, Philippines, Thailand, Indonesia and Vietnam). This is a senior, on-site role focused on operational excellence, innovation and the uptime of complex, high-availability infrastructure such as data centers, control rooms, process plants or advanced manufacturing environments.

Key responsibilities

• Lead technical and operational excellence for multi-country operations in critical environments, ensuring 24x7 uptime for systems such as BMS, M&E, power distribution, HVAC and life safety, and champion incident response and business continuity.
• Lead and mentor onsite and regional engineering teams on preventive and corrective maintenance, system upgrades and critical engineering projects.
• Develop standardized engineering playbooks, SOPs and change management processes, and pilot and scale digital and automation solutions (CMMS, BMS, IoT, predictive maintenance, energy optimization).
• Act as a Subject Matter Expert supporting solution design and technical sales engagements.
• Oversee statutory and technical compliance, integrate EHS, lead audits of engineering and BCP/life safety controls, and act as escalation and root-cause expert for outages.
• Build relationships with client and senior stakeholders, deliver technical training and represent JLL externally on operational resilience.

Required profile

• 8+ years in technical/engineering operations leadership in critical environments such as data centers, advanced manufacturing, utilities, R&D or life sciences.
• At least 4 years managing complex, high-availability infrastructure and teams, with responsibility across multiple countries or large-scale technical programs.
• Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering (or closely related discipline).
• Proven ability to build, lead and mentor geographically dispersed teams; IFM operations leadership or multi-site responsibility preferred.
• Deep familiarity with technical compliance and statutory standards (EHS as part of operations management).

Required skills

• Expertise in at least three of: BMS, HVAC/ACMV, electrical distribution, industrial automation, asset lifecycle management, CMMS/digital O&M, utilities/plant operations.
• Strong understanding of system interdependencies (power, cooling, network, controls) and hands-on responsibility for uptime and incident response.
• Preferred: professional engineering license and certifications such as Green Mark, Uptime, Bizsafe, FSM, CFM or PMP.
