Customer Engineer (Field Service)

About the role

As a Customer Engineer at Applied Materials in Singapore, you will act as the primary liaison with customers, installing, maintaining, and upgrading cutting‑edge semiconductor and display equipment. You will use digital analytics and diagnostic techniques to troubleshoot issues and ensure optimal equipment performance.

Key responsibilities

• Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on electrical, vacuum, mechanical, plasma, hydraulic, and gas systems.
• Execute Tier II startup activities and complete equipment qualifications with limited assistance.
• Conduct quality repairs, retrofits, and process issue assistance.
• Coordinate directly with customers to guarantee smooth operations and high satisfaction.
• Respond to fab issues, join escalation calls, and collaborate with engineers across locations.
• Participate in projects aimed at reducing costs and increasing equipment uptime.

Required profile

• Proficiency with primary toolsets and ability to learn additional systems quickly.
• Capability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Strong interest in customer relations and technical problem solving.
