Data Center Technician

About the role

The Data Center Technician is responsible for the day‑to‑day operation, monitoring and troubleshooting of our critical data centre facilities. You will lead vendor teams, manage incidents, and ensure safe, reliable infrastructure performance.

Key responsibilities

• Lead contractors and vendors in daily data centre operations.
• Perform inspections, monitoring, and management of infrastructure systems, environment and facilities.
• Monitor alerts from critical systems, escalate and resolve incidents promptly.
• Manage service‑desk operations and maintain accurate incident records.
• Coordinate with internal business units on utilities, building services and facilities issues.
• Assist in planning and executing disaster‑recovery activities.
• Maintain building records, licences, permits and ensure compliance with procedures and service‑level agreements.
• Produce monthly data centre and service‑desk reports and keep the asset database up to date in the CMMS.

Required profile

• Diploma in Computer Science or equivalent.
• Certified Data Centre Professional (or similar certification).
• Minimum 3 years of experience in data centre operations, facilities monitoring and management.
• Familiarity with CRAC, fire‑suppression, water‑detection, UPS and other data‑centre infrastructure.
• Experience with service‑desk operations and incident‑management processes.
• Basic understanding of MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing) systems.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving and communication skills.
