Data Engineer (Contract) – Singapore

About the role

We are seeking a Data Engineer on a contract basis to join a mid-sized technology and telecoms enterprise in Singapore. The role focuses on building and optimizing data pipelines and scalable architectures to support both public and private sector clients.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and optimise end-to-end data pipelines for efficient data flow and storage.
• Architect scalable data solutions that meet evolving business requirements.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate data solutions into existing systems.
• Perform ETL (extract, transform, load) processes and ensure data quality through monitoring and validation.
• Document data systems, processes and technical designs.
• Identify, troubleshoot and resolve data-related technical issues promptly.
• Stay current with emerging data engineering trends and technologies.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related discipline.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java or Scala.
• Strong knowledge of database systems and data-modelling techniques.
• Experience with cloud platforms and big-data tools.
• Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
