Deputy Design Manager – Urban Planning & Architecture

About the role

The Deputy Design Manager will lead island‑wide planning, design and design‑related management activities to support SDC’s strategic objectives. This role bridges concept development, stakeholder coordination and delivery of urban and architectural projects from ideation through to final approval.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct design ideation, research, narrative development and feasibility studies to keep SDC’s design approaches market‑leading.
• Engage stakeholders to gather feedback and coordinate project activities.
• Formulate Design Briefs and Urban Design Guidelines that steer planning and development works.
• Collaborate with ministries, authorities, consultants and contractors from project inception to end‑to‑end integrated design delivery.
• Prepare approval papers, specifications and drawings to facilitate clearances.
• Plan, review and manage tenancy works, including land preparation, marketing exercises and holistic experience planning.

Required profile

• Registered Qualified Person under Singapore’s Board of Architects with at least 5 years of experience in urban planning or architectural works.
• Bachelor’s degree in Architecture (Master’s preferred) or a relevant degree in Urban Design/Planning.
• Strong design flair, creative problem‑solving ability and a self‑starter attitude.
• Excellent presentation, communication and time‑management skills.
• Design‑thinking mindset and appetite for continuous learning.
