Design Engineer

About the role

Dyson is developing a confidential new product category and is looking for a Design Engineer to join the Singapore Design Engineering Team at the Singapore Technology Centre. You will work on innovative concepts from early idea through to production, turning bold ideas into reliable, test‑validated products.

Key responsibilities

• Develop product parts, assemblies and systems that meet functional, performance, reliability, safety, quality, cost and timing targets.
• Define clear design requirements with measurable targets, including technical, regulatory and manufacturing constraints.
• Generate and evaluate design concepts, applying design‑for‑manufacture and design‑for‑assembly principles.
• Create and manage 3D CAD models, 2D drawings, tolerance stacks and engineering documentation.
• Build and support functional prototypes, rigs and test samples for verification and demonstration.
• Define test requirements, analyse results and drive root‑cause investigations to improve robustness.

Required profile

• Practical, curious and methodical approach to engineering design.
• Ability to work independently on defined tasks while collaborating closely with senior engineers and cross‑functional teams.
• Motivation to take ownership of parts, assemblies and design activities in a fast‑moving product development environment.

Required skills

• 3D CAD modelling (e.g., SolidWorks, CATIA)
• 2D drawing creation and tolerance analysis
• Design for manufacture (DFM) and design for assembly (DFA)
• Prototype development and testing
• Test planning, data analysis and root‑cause problem solving
