Design Manager

About the role

We are seeking a Design Manager to lead our track design team for urban transit, intercity transit, and heavy rail systems across Singapore. The role involves overseeing the full design lifecycle from concept to delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, organize, and supervise a track design team delivering urban, intercity, and heavy rail projects.
• Design complex track arrangements, including special trackwork, maintenance yards, embedded and direct fixation, and conventional ballasted systems.
• Compose project specifications, concept reports, design briefs, constructability reports, and other technical documentation.
• Prepare design calculations, optimise solutions and develop analytical design tools.
• Mentor and develop junior staff in software applications and analytical methods.
• Prepare and monitor scopes of work, methodologies, design reviews, scheduling and presentations.
• Oversee and execute quality review processes for all design submittals.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Mechanical or Railway Engineering.
• Minimum ten years of experience in the construction industry, preferably in rail projects.
• Proven ability to lead and manage track design teams for urban transit, intercity transit and heavy rail systems.
• Experience preparing design calculations and developing analytical tools.
• Strong capability to mentor junior engineers and ensure high‑quality deliverables.
• In‑depth knowledge of track design standards and quality review procedures.
