Desktop Support Engineer

About the role

We are seeking a capable and motivated Desktop Support Engineer to provide on‑site and on‑call assistance to end‑users across our organization. You will be responsible for the full lifecycle of desktop devices, ensuring timely resolution of incidents and optimal performance of the desktop environment.

Key responsibilities

• Manage hardware and software incidents for laptops and desktops from ticket creation to resolution.
• Deliver IMAC (Install, Move, Add, Change) and desk‑side break‑fix services.
• Maintain standard operating systems, office applications, and approved hardware throughout the device lifecycle.
• Deploy and update Windows images and applications using SCCM, including patch management and compliance.
• Perform antivirus management, software installation, configuration, and physical printer setup.
• Liaise with third‑party vendors for component replacement and warranty support.
• Support Virtual Desktop Interfaces at the endpoint level.
• Conduct new starter onboarding, asset audits, and routine health checks.
• Provide VIP and smart‑hand support for critical outages and network devices.

Required profile

• Proven experience in desktop support or end‑user computing.
• Willingness to be on‑call for critical incidents and VIP support.
• Strong communication skills to keep users informed during service disruptions.
• Ability to work independently on‑site and coordinate with vendors.

• Hardware and software troubleshooting for Windows desktops.
• Microsoft SCCM for image deployment and patch management.
• Antivirus management tools.
• Windows operating system imaging and deployment.
• Virtual Desktop Interface (VDI) support.
• Asset management and inventory tools.
• Basic network device knowledge (switches, routers, UPS).
