Developer Experience Engineer (Mandarin-Speaking)

About the role

OpenAI is looking for a Developer Experience Engineer who speaks Mandarin to help developers worldwide integrate AI into their products. You will create demos, sample applications, and technical content that showcase OpenAI’s models and APIs, while engaging directly with developers and technical founders.

Key responsibilities

• Design and build demos and sample applications that illustrate best practices with Codex, frontier models, multimodal capabilities, and AI agents.
• Produce high‑quality technical content such as tutorials, blog posts, videos, and code samples.
• Engage with the Singapore and global developer community, representing OpenAI at events and online forums.
• Collect and synthesize developer feedback to influence product roadmap.
• Collaborate with product, engineering, and marketing teams to drive adoption of OpenAI’s developer products.
• Travel across APAC up to ~30% of the time to meet developers and support local events.

Required profile

• Passion for crafting exceptional developer experiences and inspiring technical content.
• Robust full‑stack engineering background with experience building AI‑powered applications.
• Fluent Mandarin to engage Mandarin‑speaking developers and communities.
• Strong user empathy and ability to translate feedback into product improvements.

Required skills

• Full‑stack development (e.g., Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, web frameworks).
• Experience with AI/LLM APIs, specifically OpenAI Codex, GPT‑5.5, GPT‑Image‑2.
• Building demos, sample apps, and technical documentation.
• Multimodal AI and agent development concepts.
