Java Applications Developer - Banking

About the role

Citi is hiring an intermediate-level Java Applications Developer in Singapore. The role takes part in building and implementing new or revised application systems and programs together with the Technology team, contributing to applications systems analysis and programming. It is a full-time position.

Key responsibilities

• Take part in every phase of the SDLC: requirements analysis, design, development, testing, deployment and post-production support.
• Design and implement software following enterprise architecture, engineering standards and secure coding best practices.
• Work with business stakeholders, architecture and infrastructure teams so implementations match business needs.
• Write unit and integration tests, support releases and deployments, and produce technical documentation.
• Analyze and resolve complex technical issues and help troubleshoot production incidents.
• Identify improvements and process optimisations, run peer code reviews and mentor team members.

Required profile

• 3-5 years of experience in the financial services industry.
• Intermediate level experience in applications development.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
• Clear written and verbal communication, problem-solving and decision-making skills.
• Able to work under pressure and meet deadlines despite changing requirements.

Required skills

• Requirement analysis, design, impact assessment and effort estimation.
• System analysis and Java/J2EE/Angular/microservices programming.
• Project management and implementation experience.
• Knowledge of cards and banking, CASA/Loans/TDs/debit cards, payments and transfers, money movements, and workflow/case management systems.
• Prototyping solutions for the business and using AI development tools such as Devin and Co-pilot.
