DevOps Reliability Engineer (AVP/VP level)

About the role

SGX is looking for a senior DevOps Reliability Engineer (AVP/VP level) to own the health of its production systems in a regulated capital‑markets environment. You will turn operational pain points into automated, code‑driven solutions and help build a platform that makes running services predictable and boring.

Key responsibilities

• Own production reliability – define SLOs, manage capacity, lead incident response and write post‑mortems.
• Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure‑as‑code, observability stacks and runbooks‑as‑code.
• Apply AI‑driven agents to triage, root‑cause analysis, remediation and change review.
• Design and integrate core infrastructure such as Kafka, Kubernetes and performance‑sensitive services.
• Partner with product engineers on release readiness, rollout strategy and production hardening.
• Continuously measure and reduce operational toil through automation.

Required profile

• 5+ years of experience in DevOps, SRE, platform or infrastructure engineering.
• Proven ability to replace manual work with production‑grade code.
• Comfort working in a highly regulated, capital‑markets environment.
• Calm under pressure, strong root‑cause analysis skills and disciplined follow‑through.

Required skills

• Strong programming in Go, Python, Kotlin, TypeScript or Rust.
• Deep hands‑on experience with Kubernetes and Terraform (or equivalent IaC).
• Expertise in CI/CD tooling and modern observability (metrics, logs, traces).
• Production experience on GCP (preferred) or AWS.
• Understanding of distributed systems and failure modes.
• Experience building AI‑native operational agents.
