Director Quality Engineering – Asia Region

About the role

We are a leading supplier to the semiconductor industry seeking a Director of Quality Engineering to lead quality excellence across the Asia region. This high‑impact leader will shape and execute regional quality strategies aligned with global objectives, driving zero‑defect and high‑reliability standards.

Key responsibilities

• Create, implement and drive regional quality strategies that support global corporate goals.
• Predict customer requirements and translate them into measurable quality plans, acting as the primary quality liaison for strategic Asian customers.
• Lead escalations for quality excursions and reliability failures, applying Six Sigma, 8D, RCA and cross‑functional containment plans.
• Perform risk assessments using statistical methods to accelerate containment, root‑cause confirmation, and permanent corrective actions.
• Oversee quality assurance processes for regional plants, including qualification, change management, audits, CAPA closure and continuous QMS improvement.
• Standardize best‑known methods, improve reporting, and drive talent development by hiring, coaching and succession planning for CQE/QE leaders.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Physics or Materials Science; Master’s degree preferred.
• 10‑15 years of quality experience with at least 10 years in senior leadership roles.
• Extensive semiconductor industry experience, preferably in wafer fabrication and/or assembly, packaging and test.
• Proven ability to lead teams across multiple Asian locations and influence outcomes in a matrixed organization.
