Economic Policy Manager

About the role

Google’s GAPP Economic Policy team is looking for an Economic Policy Manager to shape policy strategies that unlock the economic benefits of AI and digital technologies across Asia‑Pacific and emerging markets. You will work closely with local teams, policymakers and external partners to develop evidence‑based economic arguments that support pro‑innovation outcomes.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute economic strategies that align with Google’s business priorities and AI‑enabled growth objectives.
• Produce analysis, reports and narratives that inform policymakers on technology‑related economic issues.
• Draft public policy proposals to promote infrastructure investment, AI adoption and fair tax and regulatory treatment.
• Collaborate with APAC teams and external think‑tanks to advance economic policy objectives.
• Analyze legislation and policy proposals affecting economics, trade, labor and investment.
• Provide internal advice on economic and trade implications of emerging policies.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
• Minimum 7 years of experience in policy analysis, campaigns, or technology‑focused economic policy.
• Experience working within government, think tanks, public‑interest groups, technology industry groups or corporate public policy organizations.
• Proven track record interacting with policymakers on economic issues related to technology.
• Strong ability to communicate complex policy topics to both technical and general audiences.
