Economic Policy Manager

About the role

Google’s GAPP Economic Policy team is looking for an Economic Policy Manager to shape policy strategies that maximise the economic and societal benefits of AI and digital technologies across Asia‑Pacific. You will work closely with local teams and external partners to develop evidence‑based arguments that support pro‑innovation policies and drive AI‑enabled economic growth.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and deliver economic policy proposals that promote investment, infrastructure growth and AI adoption in Singapore and other APAC markets.
• Analyse legislation, tax and regulatory measures, providing strategic advice to protect Google’s interests.
• Produce economic analyses, reports and narratives for policymakers, think‑tanks and internal stakeholders.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams and external partners to build coalitions around technology‑focused economic policies.
• Monitor and interpret policy developments related to economics, labor, trade and tax.

Required profile

• Minimum Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
• At least 7 years of experience in policy analysis, campaigns or economic research, preferably on technology‑related issues.
• Experience working with government, think tanks, public‑interest groups, industry associations or corporate public‑policy teams.
• Demonstrated ability to engage with policymakers and convey complex economic concepts to diverse audiences.
