Educational Assistant (Secondary)

About the role

The Secondary Educational Assistant works under the authority of the school head and the CPEs to support student supervision and educational follow‑up. The role contributes to a safe and supportive school environment for secondary‑level students.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise students from arrival to departure, including recess, lunch, outings, and ensure their safety and well‑being.
• Record and analyse student absences and late arrivals.
• Enforce school rules and safety regulations.
• Supervise student detentions (Saturday mornings).
• Oversee activities in the secondary students’ house and high‑school students’ house.
• Participate in educational, sports, social, artistic, or cultural activities complementary to teaching.
• Assist teachers in preparing and implementing educational activities, including study and homework support.
• Promote a positive learning climate, respect, tolerance, and student well‑being.
• Help organise examinations and competitions.

Required profile

• High school diploma (required).
• Experience in animation or working with teenagers is an advantage.
• Knowledge of the AED status circular (2003‑092) and internal school regulations.
• Basic proficiency in French language.
• Understanding of adolescent development and ability to manage discipline appropriately.
