Electrical Design Engineer (Contract)

About the role

We are seeking an Electrical Design Engineer to join our EPC team on a contract basis. The role involves delivering detailed electrical designs for power‑plant projects, ensuring compliance with client specifications and industry standards.

Key responsibilities

• Review and guide Draftsman/Designer documents, providing technical direction.
• Prepare equipment specifications, evaluate vendor offers, and conduct technical assessments.
• Perform electrical system calculations, studies, and relay protection coordination.
• Manage drawing lists, monitor submission schedules, and submit documents to project coordinators.
• Validate vendor drawings against project and internal specifications.
• Participate in internal engineering reviews and coordinate with multidisciplinary teams.
• Support site and commissioning teams with technical issues and attend site meetings.
• Address Owner/OE comments, attend technical clarification meetings, and document follow‑up actions.
• Conduct FAT for HV‑LV electrical equipment and assist in tender preparation when required.

Required profile

• Degree in Electrical Engineering from a reputable university.
• Minimum 2 years of electrical design experience on EPC power‑plant projects (combined cycle, cogeneration, thermal, biomass, RDF).
• Strong knowledge of electrical codes and standards.
• Ability to work independently or lead a team as project needs dictate.
• Excellent communication and coordination skills for interdisciplinary engagement.

• Electrical design software for system studies.
• MS Office proficiency.
• 3D modeling for cable raceway, equipment, and interface checking.
• Relay protection settings and coordination expertise.
• Familiarity with cost‑effective specification and material optimization.
