Electrical Engineering Lead - Data Centres

About the role

A fast-growing data centre developer and operator, with strong funding and management, is looking for an experienced Electrical Engineering Lead. This senior technical position acts as the electrical subject matter expert across the project lifecycle, supporting site selection, engineering design, construction delivery, commissioning and operations. It works closely with multidisciplinary teams, consultants, contractors, utility providers and customers.

Key responsibilities

• Support site assessments: evaluate power availability, grid connection opportunities and electrical infrastructure suitability, review due diligence studies and identify project risks and constraints.
• Lead electrical engineering coordination during design and delivery, reviewing designs, specifications and consultant deliverables and ensuring compliance with standards and project requirements.
• Manage technical queries, design changes and engineering risks, and support the development of reliable, scalable and maintainable infrastructure.
• Guide construction, testing, commissioning and handover, resolve electrical and power system challenges, and take part in design reviews and factory witness testing.
• Work with internal stakeholders, consultants, contractors, utilities and vendors, run technical reviews and meetings, and drive continuous improvement and lessons learned.

Required profile

• Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Typically 5+ years of experience in data centre infrastructure projects.
• Experience supporting projects through design, construction, commissioning and operations phases.
• Strong stakeholder management and technical coordination skills, with excellent analytical, problem-solving and communication abilities.
