Electrical Failure Analysis Engineer

About the role

Micron is hiring an Electrical Failure Analysis Engineer to perform fault isolation and failure analysis on advanced semiconductor devices. The role identifies root causes of electrical and physical failures to support product quality, reliability and yield improvement. It uses specialized diagnostic tools, semiconductor design knowledge and failure analysis methods, and works closely with cross-functional engineering teams.

Key responsibilities

• Perform electrical failure analysis (EFA) and fault isolation
• Operate Hamamatsu iPHEMOS, Thermo Fisher ELITE and other photon, thermal or laser stimulating emission tools
• Characterize or model probe test and internal qualification fail signatures
• Use layout and schematics to aid fault isolation and fail signature modeling
• Apply physical failure analysis (PFA) and de-processing techniques
• Understand fabrication process levels, steps and package assembly
• Generate clear, organized and timely failure analysis reports with causes and effects
• Integrate AI-assisted tools into daily work and share AI-enabled improvements

Required profile

• Bachelor's or advanced degree in Electrical Engineering, preferably in Microelectronics or Circuit Design
• Strong analytical, logical and critical thinking skills
• Effective communicator who collaborates across all levels
• Growth mindset and interest in the semiconductor industry and Micron
• Internship or semiconductor industry experience is a plus; proven leadership is highly desirable
