Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I) Manager

About the role

Turner & Townsend, a global professional services company with over 22,000 people in more than 60 countries and majority-owned by CBRE Group, is hiring an Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I) Manager in Singapore on a contract basis. The role leads and manages all E&I design activities across the project lifecycle, acting as the main technical link between engineering consultants and contractors.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage all E&I design activities throughout the project lifecycle.
• Act as the primary technical interface with engineering consultants and contractors.
• Review and approve E&I engineering deliverables, ensuring compliance with codes, standards and project requirements.
• Coordinate with Automation, IT, Piping, HVAC and Utilities teams to ensure integrated design.
• Take part in 3D model reviews and embed EHS requirements in design, construction, commissioning and operational readiness.
• Support RFPs, technical bid evaluations, contractor selection and equipment procurement.
• Manage the transition from design through detailed engineering, construction, commissioning and handover.
• Oversee E&I installation, attend vendor, fabrication and equipment workshops, and approve mock-ups, testing and turnover documentation.
• Ensure complete and accurate as-built documentation and handover packages are delivered at closeout.

Required profile

• Degree in Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation Engineering or a related discipline.
• Significant experience leading E&I engineering and design for large industrial, manufacturing, pharmaceutical, life sciences or infrastructure projects.
• Experience working with EPC/EPCM contractors and managing engineering consultants.
• Strong stakeholder management, communication and problem-solving skills.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of electrical systems, instrumentation and automation interfaces.
• Multidisciplinary project delivery experience.
