Electrical Technician – Warehouse Automation

About the role

The Electrical Technician will support the operation of a highly automated warehouse environment. You will be responsible for maintaining electronic and mechanical automation components, ensuring safety and reliability across robot zones and conveyor systems.

Key responsibilities

• Inspect, clear and monitor robot zones for debris, fallen totes or packages.
• Provide day‑to‑day support to keep warehouse operations running smoothly.
• Respond promptly to breakdowns and maintenance complaints.
• Carry out scheduled maintenance according to checklists at designated sites.
• Diagnose, repair and replace faulty electronic and mechanical parts.
• Clean, lubricate, inspect and adjust equipment as required.
• Perform lock‑out/tag‑out procedures and other safety protocols.
• Assist with any additional tasks assigned by the engineering or technician lead.

Required profile

• Nitec, Higher Nitec or Diploma in Electrical & Electronic, Mechatronics, Mechanical or Instrumentation Engineering.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in electronic maintenance and repair of belt, conveyor and pulley systems.
• Ability to work rotating day/night shifts to support 24/7 operations.
• Class 3 driver’s licence.
• Preferably holds a working‑at‑heights licence and experience with basket‑type scissor lift operation and maintenance.

• HMI and SCADA systems.
• UPS, camera systems, QR‑code readers and Wi‑Fi access points.
• Structured cabling and electrical cabling.
• Lock‑out/tag‑out procedures.
• Computer maintenance and upkeep.
• Mechanical components of automation such as robot picking mechanisms, breaker systems.
• Use of basket‑type scissor lifts.
