Environmental Control Officer

About the role

The Environmental Control Officer (ECO) ensures that construction site activities comply with environmental health and hygiene standards, safeguarding both the workforce and the surrounding community.

Key responsibilities

• Perform duties as an ECO on a construction site, conducting regular inspections.
• Liaise with consultants and authorities such as NEA, MOM, and PUB.
• Monitor housekeeping, waste management, pest control, and sanitation practices.
• Manage and control the usage of hazardous substances.
• Organise and deliver environmental health awareness and training for staff.
• Maintain inspection records and compliance documents, preparing monthly data submissions.
• Undertake any additional tasks assigned by management.

Required profile

• Registered ECO with NEA.
• Willingness to work in the Tuas area.
• 2‑3 years of relevant experience in a construction firm.
• Good knowledge of local environmental regulations.
• Strong observation, problem‑solving, and organisational abilities.
• Capability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Experience conducting inspections, audits, and staff training.
