Equipment Engineer (Epitaxy)

About the role

STMicroelectronics is looking for an Equipment Engineer specialized in Epitaxy to join its semiconductor production team. You will work on performance analysis, troubleshooting, and optimisation of epitaxial tools, gaining hands‑on experience with advanced equipment and safety procedures.

Key responsibilities

• Understand and monitor performance of epitaxy equipment during preventive and corrective maintenance cycles.
• Analyse the Maestria/Estar system and optimise key performance behaviours using analytical tools.
• Troubleshoot mechanical and basic electronic issues; read and interpret electrical schematics.
• Study and manage toxic gases used in the epitaxial process (MSDS).
• Participate in key projects, SMED and A3 workshops, tool conversions from 6‑ to 8‑inch wafers, and equipment upgrades.
• Install and reload equipment software and apply generic EHS training.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Design, Electrical/Electronics Engineering or Mechatronics.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate with diverse groups.
• Pro‑active attitude and willingness to participate in continuous‑improvement activities.

Required skills

• Interpretation of schematic diagrams.
• Knowledge of epitaxy equipment and Maestria analytical methodology.
• Experience with SMED and A3 problem‑solving techniques.
• Understanding of MSDS for gases used in epitaxy.
• Mechanical and basic electronics troubleshooting.
