Equipment Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a hands‑on Equipment Engineer to develop and enhance high‑precision mechatronic systems in a production environment. The role combines mechanical design, system integration, troubleshooting and calibration, and works closely with cross‑functional teams and external vendors.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop high‑precision fixtures and mechatronic systems using CAD, focusing on manufacturability and performance.
• Translate system requirements into robust, reliable, and repeatable engineering solutions.
• Assemble, calibrate, and optimise equipment to meet key performance targets such as accuracy, yield and uptime.
• Conduct testing, analyse data, and drive continuous improvements.
• Lead troubleshooting and structured root‑cause analysis to minimise downtime and recurring issues.
• Implement corrective and preventive actions to enhance equipment reliability and stability.
• Prepare and maintain engineering documentation, including drawings and bills of materials.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams and external vendors to ensure timely project delivery.

Required profile

• Degree in Mechatronics, Mechanical, or Systems Engineering.
• 2–5 years of hands‑on experience in assembly, testing, calibration and troubleshooting of complex opto‑mechatronic systems.
• A relevant Master’s degree is an advantage.

Required skills

• Proficiency in CAD (e.g., Siemens NX).
• Strong knowledge of precision mechanics and tolerancing.
• Experience in automation and system design.
• Programming skills: PLC, MCU, Python, LabVIEW.
• Basic electronics knowledge (sensors, actuators, wiring).
• Calibration and alignment of motion or optical systems.
