Equipment Engineer – Semiconductor Manufacturing

About the role

The Equipment Engineer will join GlobalFoundries’ semiconductor manufacturing team in Singapore, ensuring that critical production equipment operates reliably and efficiently. Working on‑site in a cleanroom environment, you will be responsible for maintaining and optimizing high‑volume manufacturing tools.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor, maintain, and optimize semiconductor manufacturing equipment to sustain stable production.
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance, troubleshoot equipment failures, and conduct root‑cause analysis.
• Coordinate repairs and upgrades, minimizing downtime and supporting equipment qualification activities.
• Collaborate with process, manufacturing, and automation teams to improve equipment performance, yield, and reliability.
• Document maintenance actions, follow strict safety and quality standards, and contribute to continuous‑improvement projects.

Required profile

• Strong equipment maintenance and repair experience in high‑volume manufacturing or similar technical environments.
• Proficiency in troubleshooting complex equipment issues and performing root‑cause analysis.
• Background in mechanical, electrical, or mechatronics engineering (Bachelor’s degree or diploma).
• Familiarity with automation systems, equipment interfaces, sensors, and control logic.
• Ability to work in a cleanroom, adhere to SOPs, and follow safety and quality requirements.
• Excellent analytical, documentation, and communication skills; prior semiconductor fabrication experience is a plus.
