Exhibit Maintenance Technician

About the role

Science Centre Singapore is looking for a Technician to join its Exhibit Maintenance team on a renewable contract basis. The team of engineers and technicians keeps all exhibits operational to the highest standard so that visitors enjoy them.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and keep the exhibits in the Centre and KidsStop running properly.
• Carry out periodic maintenance on exhibits.
• Troubleshoot and resolve electromechanical and computer-related faults that may arise.
• Work on a rotational schedule with the rest of the Exhibit Maintenance team.

Required profile

• Diploma or NITEC in Mechatronics / Electronics (ideally).
• At least 2 years of experience maintaining and servicing electronic and electromechanical equipment.
• Proficiency with simple test equipment for exhibit troubleshooting.
• Ability to handle basic tools such as screwdrivers and test pens.
• Rotating 5-day work shifts are required; weekend and public holiday work is scheduled as needed.
• Candidates with more years of relevant experience may be considered for the Senior Technician role.

Required skills

• Use of simple test equipment for troubleshooting.
• Good knowledge of computer hardware and programming systems is an advantage.
• A strong interest in taking apart and fixing things is advantageous.
