Facilities Electrical Technician

About the role

Micron is looking for a seasoned and technically skilled Facilities Electrical Technician to support the operation, maintenance and enhancement of electrical systems at Fab 10, where they power semiconductor manufacturing. The technician works closely with engineers and cross-functional teams to run maintenance programmes, troubleshoot complex issues and contribute to continuous improvement, with opportunities for leadership and technical growth.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure environmental, health and safety (EHS) compliance across all electrical activities
• Perform routine and preventive maintenance on electrical systems from 230kV down to low voltage, including emergency generators, UPS systems and power quality equipment
• Support commissioning and startup of new electrical systems and infrastructure upgrades
• Troubleshoot electrical problems using structured procedures
• Conduct risk assessments and FMEA to identify and mitigate potential failures
• Maintain accurate documentation of systems, maintenance records and compliance reports
• Mentor junior technicians and take part in technical training
• Support deployment of SMART diagnostics tools and digital systems, and use AI-enabled ways of working where applicable

Required profile

• Diploma in Electrical Engineering or equivalent technical certification
• Minimum 2 years in electrical maintenance and operations within semiconductor or advanced manufacturing environments
• Effective communicator with strong teamwork and documentation skills
• Proactive, safety-conscious and committed to continuous improvement

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of HV/MV/LV systems, electrical schematics and safety codes
• Familiarity with ETAP, IEC standards and predictive maintenance tools is a plus
