Facilities Management Engineer – Building & Infrastructure

About the role

We are seeking a Facilities Management Engineer to join the Building and Infrastructure Programme Centre, supporting the defence facilities of MINDEF and the Singapore Armed Forces. The role works with multi‑disciplinary teams to ensure that infrastructure reliably meets operational needs.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee performance tracking for facilities management contracts, including KPI monitoring, customer satisfaction assessments, dashboard creation and data‑analytics‑driven decision making.
• Monitor building defects and the condition of mechanical and electrical systems, recommending modifications or proactive replacements.
• Plan and manage the annual facilities maintenance budget, ensuring cost optimisation.
• Prepare and evaluate invitations to quote and tender submissions, maintaining objectivity and alignment with MINDEF/SAF requirements.
• Conduct regular contract and technical reviews, identify gaps and propose service‑quality improvements.
• Organise quality records and documentation for knowledge management and audit purposes.
• Stay updated on industry innovations, real‑estate policies, governance updates, workplace safety and health standards.

Required profile

• Tertiary qualification in Facilities Management, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering or related discipline.
• Minimum of 3 years relevant facilities‑management experience.
• Good understanding of benchmarks, statutory requirements and Singapore Standards/Code of Practice for facilities management.
• Familiarity with Public Sector Standard Conditions of Contract is preferred.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
