Facilities Technician

About the role

Micron is hiring a Technician for its facilities operations team. The role keeps the plant's facilities equipment and systems running safely and reliably, responds to out-of-specification conditions and service requests, and supports the smooth flow of production.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure the safe and proper operation of facilities equipment and systems, monitored through FMCS or equivalent control systems.
• Respond promptly to out-of-specification or abnormal conditions affecting production or the site, and restore services quickly to minimise interruptions.
• Support and implement operating procedures and risk assessments for facilities systems, and coordinate maintenance or installation activities on site.
• Accurately pass information to the next shift, complete shift routines, and assist in drafting SOPs, checklists and daily plant reports.
• Follow up on incidents or service interruptions, review and approve work permits, and serve as a member of the Emergency Response Team.
• Co-chair the Facilities Daily Operation morning meeting with the Facilities Operations Engineer, and perform WAC regen and ACF backwash.
• Prioritise and organise work during the shift, and complete assigned learning items and training within the stated timeframe.

Required profile

• Engineering diploma in electronic/electrical, mechanical, controls and instrumentation, or a similar field.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills, self-motivated and able to prioritise work.
• Able to work independently and in a team; prior facilities experience is advantageous.
• Willingness to work any shift on a rotating schedule.
• Advantageous: willingness to adopt AI-enabled ways of working, such as digital tools, dashboards, automation solutions and AI assistants like Microsoft Copilot.
