Finance Intern

About the role

Amgen, a leading biotechnology company, is looking for a Finance Intern at its Singapore affiliate in the Duo Tower. The role covers financial planning and analysis support, reporting and accounting assistance, exposure to business partnering and process improvement initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Support financial planning and analysis: prepare monthly management reports, variance analysis and performance dashboards, and collect, validate and consolidate budget, forecast and long-range plan data.
• Maintain and update financial data in Excel, Anaplan and Hyperion, and help prepare presentation slides for SEA leadership meetings and financial reviews.
• Support month-end and quarter-end closing, including journal templates, accrual tracking and reconciliations.
• Support ad-hoc analysis of sales performance, operating expense trends and cost efficiency, and attend meetings with finance business partners.
• Document finance processes, identify simplification and standardization opportunities, and support automation or template optimization projects.
• Learn and apply new tools such as Power BI and ChatGPT to build interactive dashboards and reports.

Required profile

• Strong analytical, numerical and problem-solving skills.
• High attention to detail and a strong sense of accountability.
• Self-motivated, eager to learn, able to work independently and in a team.
• Excellent verbal and written communication in English.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
• Familiarity with process mapping tools such as Miro is a plus.
• Interest in learning tools like Power BI and ChatGPT.
