Finance Reporting and Budgeting Officer

About the role

The Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine (LKCMedicine) is recruiting a Senior/Assistant Manager, Finance to support the Finance Business Partner. The role works closely with stakeholders on forecasting, budgeting, analysis and reporting, manages the school's financial closure leading to annual audited financial statements, manages Endowment Fund reporting and collaborates with the Advancement Office on donor reporting. It is a contract position until 31 March 2029.

Key responsibilities

• Produce periodic financial and management reports.
• Liaise with external auditors and manage requests for audit schedules, samples and documentation during audit fieldwork.
• Analyse and review Fund Centre Reports, highlighting irregularities or inconsistencies with the FP&A team.
• Provide ad hoc and periodic fund activity reports to donors.
• Support revised estimates and budget inputs from stakeholders to develop annual operating budgets and evaluate short- and long-term funding needs.
• Monitor budget against actuals, analyse variances and flag financial risks and opportunities.
• Advise stakeholders on budgetary control and expenditure management.
• Drive continuous improvement of financial and management reporting.

Required profile

• Degree in Accountancy or professional accounting qualification from a recognized university.
• Understanding of accounting principles and clear knowledge of Financial Reporting Standards.
• Numerically inclined, meticulous and proactive, with good analytical, communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong organizational and administrative skills, especially in compliance, and good customer engagement skills.
• Able to work independently, under pressure and in a team, meeting tight deadlines.

Required skills

• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables).
• Knowledge of the SAP financial system is an added advantage.
